Tuupala Museum

Opened to the public in 1975, the Tuupala Museum is a historic farmhouse museum showcasing everyday life and its residents from the late 19th century to the 1960s. The Tuupala estate was farmed by the Tuupainen family as early as the 17th century, from whom the house takes its name.

Outside regular opening hours, the museum is open by appointment for groups of at least 12 people.

Donations

The museum welcomes donations of historical objects, photographs and material for the local history archive.

Parking

Parking is available at the Tuupala School car park. Access to the museum grounds is from the southern entrance.

Accessibility

The museum is not fully accessible. Paths are mainly grass-covered, and the buildings have stairs. The interiors have been preserved as authentically as possible, so visitors should have reasonable mobility. Museum staff can advise on the easiest entrance to use.

Museum Shop

Tuupala Museum does not have a museum shop. Tuupala-themed postcards and books about Kuhmo are available for purchase at the Winter War Museum (Väinämöinen 11).
