Summer Musicians
Kuhmo Music Institute has organised its Summer Musicians programme since 1996. Each year, the Music Institute employs young musicians to perform in Kuhmo and Sotkamo.
In summer 2025, events featuring the Summer Musicians and dancers attracted approximately 2,800 visitors.
The main events include performances at care homes and day-care centres, coffee concerts at Kuhmo Arts Centre, a children’s concert and an evening concert.
In summer 2026, the Summer Musicians will perform from 8 June to 5 July. Public performances can be found on the Tapahtumien Kainuu website.
Coffee Concerts
Kuhmo Music Institute’s traditional coffee concert series will take place from 10 June to 3 July at Café Juttua, Monday to Friday at 14:00. There will be no concert on Midsummer Eve, Friday 19 June.
The Summer Musicians will perform a diverse selection of music. Admission is free!

Book the Summer Musicians for Summer 2026
You can book the Summer Musicians to perform at your own event, summer café or celebration – whether you are looking for live entertainment, a great atmosphere or music to delight your customers.
The Summer Musicians are mainly young people from Kuhmo and Sotkamo. Their repertoire ranges from folk music and Finnish popular music to Ultra Bra and jazz. Please let us know your musical preferences in advance.
