Special Youth Work
Special youth work provides support and guidance for individuals and groups.
In Kuhmo, special youth work is carried out in cooperation with various networks and services, including:
- Ankkuri multidisciplinary youth support
- Enhanced youth work in crisis situations
School Youth Work
Youth work in schools and educational institutions supports young people’s growth, independence and sense of community, as well as their overall living and growing conditions.
School youth work is provided in comprehensive schools, upper secondary school and for students at Taitotehdas.
Activities include:
- Supporting young people at school
- Encouraging young people to participate
- Organising activities as part of schools’ small-group activities
- Supporting class bonding and group dynamics
- Participating in classroom activities
- Promoting young people’s participation and opportunities to influence matters that affect them
- Working together with school pupil and student councils, peer support activities and supervising teachers
The school youth worker also works with the Kuhmo Youth Council. We encourage all young people to have a say in their local environment and to participate in developing services for young people.
