Surveying, Maps and Geospatial Information
Surveying and Geospatial Information Services are responsible for the City of Kuhmo’s maps and geospatial data, as well as surveying and mapping work.
The responsibilities include supervising planning surveys, producing and maintaining maps, marking out building sites, producing geospatial data required for construction and municipal infrastructure planning, and carrying out other surveying and mapping tasks.
WebGIS, AutoCAD (YTCad) and 3D-Win software are used to process and produce maps and surveying data. Field surveys are carried out using satellite positioning and total station equipment. The City uses the ETRS-GK30 coordinate system and the N2000 height system.
The National Land Survey of Finland is responsible for cadastral surveys in the Kuhmo area.
