Outreach Youth Work

Outreach youth work provides support and guidance for young people aged 16–28 living in Kuhmo.

The service aims to reach young people who would like support with everyday life or who are at risk of being, or are already, outside education and employment. Outreach youth work is based primarily on the information provided by the young person and the matters they consider important in their everyday life.

The service is free of charge and confidential.

How to Contact Outreach Youth Work

A young person can contact an outreach youth worker themselves. Contact can also be made by a parent or guardian, family member, friend, authority or another person working with the young person.

You can contact an outreach youth worker directly by phone or WhatsApp, through social media or by email. You can also submit a contact request through Yhteysetsivaan.fi. After receiving a contact request, an outreach youth worker will contact the young person.

You can also talk to an outreach youth worker about anything that is on your mind when you meet them at activities and events outside the office.

You can take part just as you are. Meetings can take place at the outreach youth work office or somewhere else that feels comfortable for you, such as a café or outdoors. Outreach youth workers also take part in various group activities, and young people are warmly welcome to join.
