Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for music studies includes individual instrument lessons as well as music theory, perception and group studies included in the curriculum, such as music workshops, ensemble playing, music theory and perception, and music history. Short courses and study trips are exceptions and may involve additional costs.

Music Institute students who participate only in ensemble or group tuition and do not have a place in individual tuition are charged a participation fee of €25 per semester.

Tuition fees for Kuhmo Music Institute are determined by the City of Kuhmo’s Well-being and Education Committee.

Invoicing

Fees are invoiced twice during the school year, once per semester, in October and March. Information about upcoming tuition fee invoicing is sent by email approximately one month in advance. Any matters affecting invoicing must be settled before the invoices are issued. Please contact the Service Secretary in advance regarding any matters that may affect your invoice.

Studies may be discontinued at the end of a semester by notifying both the teacher and the Music Institute office. In this case, no tuition fee will be charged for the following semester.

Tuition fees can also be paid using the student’s personal Epassi benefit. If you wish to pay with Epassi, please contact the Music Institute office before making the payment: Eine Kotamaa, tel. +358 44 725 5441.

Tuition Fee Exemption

Students may apply for exemption from tuition fees on social grounds. A statement from social services must be submitted with the application to the Music Institute office. The Principal grants fee exemptions for one semester at a time.

Sibling Discount

The sibling discount applies to children under the age of 18 living at the same address.

The oldest child pays the full tuition fee. The second oldest child receives a €40 discount, the third oldest child a €30 discount, and each additional child under the age of 18 a €20 discount.

The sibling discount applies regardless of whether the students study music or dance.

Changes to due dates and other payment arrangements can be agreed upon separately.
