Renewing Loans
Loans can be renewed using a customer computer at the library, through the Kainet online library using your library card number and personal PIN code, or by calling the library’s customer service at +358 44 725 5390.
Returning Items
Loans can be returned to any Kainet library. Interlibrary loans and borrowed items are exceptions and must be returned to the library from which they were originally borrowed.
Customers are responsible for returning borrowed materials. You can check your current loans through the online library or by asking library staff.
If you return materials during self-service hours, please note that they will not be registered as returned until the library’s next staffed opening day. Items left in the external returns slot overnight or in the returns box inside the library during self-service hours will also be registered as returned on the next staffed opening day.
For example, if an item is due on a Saturday, it is safest to return it on a weekday when library staff are present. Overdue items are subject to late fees in accordance with the library’s price list.
If requested, customers can receive an email reminder about upcoming due dates, for example three days before an item is due. Your email address can be added to your customer information at the library’s customer service desk.
Loans must be returned or renewed no later than the due date, even if you have not received an advance reminder. The library is not responsible for the delivery of due-date notifications.
Reservations
If an item you are looking for is not available at Kuhmo Main Library or is currently on loan, you can place a reservation.
Reservations are personal and can only be collected using the library card with which the reservation was made. You will be notified when your reservation is ready for collection using your preferred notification method.
Reservations are held at the library for one week. A €3 fee is charged for reservations that are not collected.
