Physical Activity Counselling
Physical activity counselling is a personal and free service for people of all ages. The aim is to help you make physical activity a natural part of your everyday life.
The length of the counselling process depends on your individual needs. Typically, the service lasts between 4 and 12 months.
A physical activity counsellor can provide practical advice on how to start exercising safely, fit physical activity into your daily routine and reduce sedentary time. The counsellor can introduce you to different forms of exercise and explain the health benefits of physical activity. If needed, you will also receive guidance for exercising independently and tips for staying active at home. The counselling is tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
The counsellor can also help you identify and address challenges related to your lifestyle. You will receive support in making lifestyle changes and setting realistic and achievable goals.
You can also participate in introductory courses organised by the physical activity counsellor, where different forms of exercise are explored in a group setting.
You can book an appointment directly by calling the physical activity counsellor or by submitting your contact details through the online registration form.
You can also be referred to physical activity counselling by a doctor, nurse, occupational healthcare professional, school healthcare professional or another professional. In this case, you can complete the online registration form together with the professional.
Participation in introductory physical activity courses is based on individual guidance provided by the physical activity counsellor.
