Family Day Care

Family day care is a home-like form of early childhood education and care that supports children’s upbringing at home, with an emphasis on care and play.

There are currently four family day care homes in Kuhmo. A family day care provider cares for a maximum of four full-time children under school age.

The Director of Early Childhood Education assigns children to family day care groups and provides guidance and supervision through regular visits to ensure the quality of care and early childhood education.

Backup care for children in family day care is provided at Kuusenkuiske 24-Hour Day-Care Centre for children in the Saarikoski area and at Satumetsä Day-Care Centre for children in the town centre area.
