Kuhmon VesiEnergia Oy is a subsidiary wholly owned by the City of Kuhmo and operates under the City’s corporate governance.

The company supplies heating energy to customers through the district heating network. Its service area covers the central urban area of Kuhmo.

The heating energy is produced at Kuhmon Lämpö Oy’s heating plant, where approximately 98% of the energy is generated using renewable bioenergy. The bioenergy comes from sawdust and bark produced as by-products of the sawmilling operations of Kuhmo Oy, located near the heating plant.
