Kuhmo Music Institute

Kuhmo Music Institute provides basic education in the arts in both music and dance.

Kuhmo Music Institute is a municipally maintained arts school that receives statutory government funding. Its service area covers the municipalities of Kuhmo and Sotkamo.

At Kuhmo Music Institute, students experience the joy of making music together with others. A strong sense of community is one of our greatest strengths, and the unique Kuhmo spirit is present throughout the year.

Dance education is offered according to the general syllabus of basic education in the arts. Children, young people, and adults can all study dance. Dance provides enjoyment and opportunities for success on physical, mental, and social levels.

The institute also offers music education following the advanced syllabus of basic education in the arts. Kuhmo is internationally renowned for its annual Chamber Music Festival, and ensemble playing in its many forms is highly valued at the Music Institute as well.
